How Freedom's Lost
by DCDave

If from acts of treachery
We hide our eyes through fear,
Our ostrich-like head burial
Won't make them disappear.

Instead, our moral cowardice
Will haunt us like a curse.
The outrages, we can be sure,
Will gradually grow worse.

The freedom that our fathers won
Already's had its day
The moment we see perfidy
And choose to look away.
