Desperately Seeking Truth
by DCDave

If they weren't so credulous
Before corrupt authority,
They would be respected by
More than a minority.

A decent press would surely show
A hint of perspicacity.
Instead we get a palimpsest
Of government mendacity.

We haven't seen it in our day,
But we would rejoice,
Should we find among our press
One independent voice.
