Star-Crossed Banner

From sea to shining sea,

Let the banner wave

O'er the refuge of the free

And the hospice of the brave.

What's with our vaunted bravery

When in the face of treachery,

Of high-in-office wrong,

We would not fight the villainy,

And chose instead security?

Is this not the way to tyranny?

Are we too far gone to save?

When we're no longer brave

Can we be free for long?
