Royal Grammar Lesson

                                                 The king laid down his ring
                                        As he lay in his bed.
                                        In peace lay there the king,
                                        Because the king was dead.

                                        In splendor did he lie;
                                        His realm lay to the west,
                                        But as he chanced to die,
                                        The king was laid to rest.
